Dr. Antonino Secchi – The Founder of CCO
Dr. Secchi is Former Clinical Director of the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania, the same school where he received his DMD, Certificate in Orthodontics, and a Master of Science in Oral Biology.
Dr. Secchi’s research interests include, primarily, the relationship between self-ligating appliances, friction and treatment mechanics as well as orthodontics and functional occlusion. He has published in various dental and orthodontic peer review journals. Dr. Secchi wrote the chapter “Contemporary Mechanics Using The Straight Wire Appliance” for the latest edition of the Graber/Vanarsdall/Vig orthodontic textbook. He received the 2005 David C. Hamilton Orthodontic Research Award from the Pennsylvania Association of Orthodontists (PAO) and the 2010 Outstanding Teacher Award from the Department of Orthodontics of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Secchi is the founder of the “Complete Clinical Orthodontics System” (CCO SYSTEM), which he teaches to orthodontists not only in USA but throughout the world. His passion for clinical orthodontics and commitment to education has made him a solicited lecturer at a National and International level. In addition, he maintains an active orthodontic practice in Philadelphia and Devon, PA.
Ana Boetsch
Dra. Ana María Boetsch received her DDS with a specialty in Orthopedics and Orthodontics from the National University of Córdoba, and a Diploma of Orthodontics from New York University, College of Dentistry.
She is a Fellow at the International College of Dentistry, and Professor for the Postgraduate Orthodontic Program at the Circulo Odontológico of Mendoza. Dr. Boetsch is a member of the AAO, SAO, ALADO y forms part of the Scientific Committee for the Prisma Odontológico Magazine. She currently maintains an exclusive practice in Mendoza, Argentina, where she works with a team of specialists to offer quality and excellent treatments to her patients specializing in smile design, orthodontics and dental aesthetics.
Dr. Adrian Carbajosa
Dr. Adrian Carbajosa received his DMD and Masters Degree in Orthodontics at the University of Seville. He is currently a Collaborating Professor at this same University, teaching related orthodontic concepts for the Master of Periodoncia and Implantology. He is author and co-author of various scientific publications and presented at many conferences on both a national and international level. Dr. Carbajosa is member of AESOR, SEDO and SEPA, and practices orthodontics exclusively in Seville, Spain.
Dr. Ágata Carvalho
Dr Ágata Carvalho graduated in Dental Medicine from the Dental Medical School of the University of Porto in 2006 and in the same year she started her PgD (Post-graduation Diploma) in Orthodontics at the Department of Stomatology of the Medical School of the University of Porto. Between 2007 and 2010 she concluded the Specialist Programme in Orthodontics at the Dental Medical School of the University of Porto. From 2010 to 2012 she participated in the Master course in Functional Oclusion by the Roth-Williams Foundation. She is a registered Specialist in Orthodontics by the Portuguese Dental Association since 2014 and currently holds a permanent position as Orthodontist in the Department of Orthodontics, Oclusion and Orofacial Pain at the CMEB Advanced Oral Care Clinic in Bragança, Portugal.
Dr. Julia Garcia Baeza
Dr. Garcia Baeza is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and member of the Spanish Society of Orthodontics. She received her DMD from the University European of Madrid, Spain; and her Certificate in Orthodontics, and Master of Science in Oral Biology from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Garcia Baeza´s interest on research in orthodontics appliances has taken her to enroll a PhD program at the University Complutense of Madrid, Spain. She has published in various research and orthodontic journals and she is also a national an international speaker. Dr. Garcia Baeza also teaches at the post-graduate program of Aesthetics Dentistry at the University Complutense of Madrid, were the orthodontic specialty is a must for their multidisciplinary cases. Dr. Garcia Baeza´s devotion for clinical orthodontics and multidisciplinary work has made her to join an outstanding professional dental team in Madrid, in which “Passion for Excellence” is their main goal. She maintains her own orthodontics and multidisciplinary private practice in Madrid (CIMA Dental).
Dr. Andres Giraldo
Dr. Giraldo has a thriving orthodontic practice in the beautiful city of Manizales Colombia. He is the former Program Director of orthodontics at Autonoma University of Manizales. Dr. Giraldo is a member of the Sociedad Colombiana de Ortodoncia, international member of the AAO, as well as member of the WFO.
With over 20 years of experience in orthodontics, Dr. Giraldo has gone through a practice evolution commonly experienced by many orthodontists. Right after graduating from his orthodontic residency program, he began to practice the Ricketts technique, then Roth, to later move to MBT. Over ten years ago he discovered the CCO SYSTEM, which he fell in love soon after! In about three years he converted his practice to a 100% CCO SYSTEM. His clinical trials and experience with the CCO SYSTEM has developed Dr. Giraldo as a strong advocate of this Orthodontic approach. He is currently faculty of the prestigious orthodontic postgraduate program at Universidad CES in Medellin as well as honorary professor at Universidad del Valle in Cali where he teaches the CCO SYSTEM, runs an “In-Office” program in advanced orthodontic education of Latin America in his private practice, and is leading education courses in Mexico, Peru, Chile and Colombia. Dr. Giraldo loves to spend his free time with his wife and two daughters as well as playing golf with his friends.
Dr. Oliver Liebl
After studying dentistry at the Julius Maximilian University in Würzburg, he continued his further post graduate education as an orthodontist in a private practice and at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. He graduated in 2004 and founded his own practice in Wertheim am Main in 2005. For several years now, he has been publishing and speaking about various topics of orthodontics, nationally and internationally. He focuses on digital orthodontics and efficiency of clinical treatment. Also he is lecturing since 2012 about various topics nationa and international: Selfligating, CCO, Digital Workflows, Management and Organisation. He is doing courses on DIGITAL WORKFLOW together with Dr Peylo.
Dr. Javier Moyano
Dr. Javier Moyano received his DMD, Master and PhD in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the International University of Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. He is currently an Associate Professor of Orthodontics at this same institution. Dedicated to educational programs and university environments, Dr. Moyano participates in many national and international congresses and society meetings. Author and co-author of many scientific research publications for the University where he works, Dr. Moyano maintains his private practice in Barcelona, Spain.
Dr. Shalin R. Shah
Dr. Shah earned his BA, DMD, Certificate in Orthodontics, and a Master of Science in Oral Biology at the University of Pennsylvania, where he also served for nearly a decade as a Clinical Associate in the Department of Orthodontics. He has furthered his education through programs at the Wharton-AAO (Mastering the Business of Orthodontics), MIT (Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare), Harvard Business School (Executive Leadership), and Stanford Graduate School of Business (Entrepreneurship and Design Thinking). In 2024, he was honored to begin his term as President of the New Jersey Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Shah is deeply engaged in the evolution of orthodontics through digital innovation and artificial intelligence and his work brings together CBCT technology, engineering principles, and the soft power of connection to elevate care and outcomes alike. He has practiced and taught the CCO® system for over fifteen years and lectures internationally/nationally.
Dr. Shah currently maintains his exclusive orthodontic practice at COE Smiles in Princeton Junction, NJ. He is more than a doctor. Dr. Shah is a lifelong student of love, unity, and presence and believes the greatest title anyone can ever hold is that of a human. Through his clinical work, global lectures, and everyday acts of kindness, he lives his mantra: One world, one family, one love.
Dr. Pedro Sousa
Dr. Sousa graduated with a DMD from the University of Fernando Pessoa, Portugal and received his Certificate in Orthodontics from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oporto, where he also achieved his certificate in Orthodontics & Orthognatic Surgery. Dr. Sousa is fascinated by the biological effects of friction & binding of conventional brackets and has imparted many master classes both nationally and internationally on this concept.
Dr. Raffaele Spena
Dr. Raffaele Spena received his Certificate in Orthodontics at the Dental School of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and his “Specialty in Orthodontics” at the University of Ferrara. He has been involved in several research projects, spreading from nonextraction treatment having co-worked with Dr. Norman Cetlin, to the Periodontally Facilitated Orthodontics (corticotomy and its applications to orthodontic treatment). He has published an atlas about “Il trattamento senza estrazioni”(Nonextraction technique) and published a chapter “Nonextraction Treatment” in the textbook “Orthodontics – Current principles and techniques” by T.M.Graber e R.M.Vanarsdall. Dr. Spena was Adjunct Clinical Professor at the Orthodontic Department of the Dental School of the University of Pennsylvania from 1988 to 2000, and University of Parma from 1996 to 2000 and currently at the University of Ferrara. He is a member of the Italian Accademy of Orthodontics, American Association of Orthodontists, Società Italiana di Ortodonzia, World Federation of Orthodontists and European Orthodontic Society. He is an active member of the Angle Society of Europe since 2005. He practices in orthodontics in Napoli.
Dr. Maria Noel Strada
Dr. María Noel Strada is a dentist and orthodontist with an extensive career dedicated
exclusively to orthodontics since 1993. She graduated with honors from the National
University of Córdoba, receiving the University Award for Best Academic Performance,
and holds a European-recognized dental license. Her international education includes a
diploma from New York University and advanced accreditation in CCO training in
Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
She serves as Honorary Professor at the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) and has
lectured widely across Argentina, the United States, and Spain. Dr. Strada is the creator
and director of SOS Ortodoncia, a professional platform for orthodontic education and
clinical case consulting, through which she has guided and trained thousands of
specialists.
Currently, Dr. Strada directs master’s programs in Dentofacial Orthopedics,
Orthodontics, and Aligners at UCAM’s campuses in Seville, Madrid, Málaga, and Las
Palmas de Gran Canaria. Over the past 25 years, she has designed and delivered both
intensive and long-term online orthodontic training programs, further expanding access
to specialized education globally. Her career reflects a blend of clinical expertise,
academic leadership, and dedication to the advancement of orthodontics.
Ryan K. Tamburrino, DMD
Dr. Ryan Tamburrino graduated from Duke University with a double major in Biomedical & Medical Engineering and Material Science followed by a degree as DMD with Specialty in Orthodontics from the University of Pennsylvania.
He is a previous faculty member and attending clinician in the graduate orthodontic clinic at the University of Pennsylvania and currently lectures both nationally and internationally with the CCO® System. He is author of two books Orthodontic Treatment Design and I Think My Child Needs Braces and has participated in numerous clinical articles and book chapters as well as being actively involved with several research projects focusing on orthodontic diagnosis.
When speaking to colleagues his goal is to provide unbiased, objective, practical Information in a dynamic way, providing the audience with take-home tools they can implement immediately. His goal is to have all attendees learn from both his successes and failures!
Originally from Pittsburgh, Dr. Tamburrino is the founder of Tamburrino Family Orthodontics based in West Chester, PA. He enjoys model railroading, hiking, cooking, Basset hounds and sharing time with his wife and two sons.
